Are golf courses open?

Does anyone know if golf courses are open; if not, when they will open and under what conditions.  I cant find any sensible information, but various mates living elsewhere have said they have heard that courses will open after 31s,t but that restrictions will be imposed upon those who can play, eg you might have to be double jabbed.  Seems pretty barking to me but TIT.

All athletic venues are close in dark red zones which includes golf courses. This lockdown goes till the end of September unless the government changes the terms which they did for restaurants and malls starting Sept 1 but no relaxation of athletic venues. I will post if I hear anything as my caddie will call me when the courses open. Guess I am stuck hitting balls in my simulator for awhile longer.

Thanks for that.  As golf is such a 'big' game over here, I can never understand why golf courses are never mentioned in the updates on restrictions.

Just got a call from my caddy at Wing 1. She said they are open starting Sept 1 but need proof of vaccination to play. Not sure if other courses are asking for proof of vaccination. If anything changes I will post it here.

Thanks for that.  Golf courses asking for proof of vaccination is pretty strange, given that the requirement for restaurants to require customers to be double jabbed has been rescinded.  Perhaps golf course managers haven't yet caught up with that U-turn!  We'll see.

Could be because they are run by the military, think government.

but they don't own the restaurants. It might change. Waiting for an update later today. Private courses might not have the vaccination mandate.

Just got a call from my caddy at Wing 1. They are letting people play without a vaccination card.

Thanks for that RDRO.  Just as well, otherwise they wouldn't have any players as the cards haven't yet been issued!
