The Telegraph Fantasy Football Premier League winner for the 2020-21 season, walking away with the grand prize of £5,000, is Lee Fricker.
2020/21 end-of-season survey >
Lee’s team, Superman 3, was top of the Overall League for a number of weeks as the season drew to a conclusion and eventually finished top on 2091 points. Superman 3 were 68 points clear of their closest rivals, Rising Force (David Chadwick), and Money Onomah Mind (Robert Ashworth).
And while lockdown was a frustrating time for many of us, when it came to Fantasy Football, Lee used it to his advantage:
Lee said: "It’s been a very unusual season. It may sound strange to say but lockdown really helped me manage my team. Normally I would be out with the kids but instead I was forced to stay at home and to pass the time I spent hours discussing football with my Dad, ensuring I didn't miss any deadlines."
And Lee had some tactical tips for anyone looking to emulate his achievement next season, or indeed during Euro 2021.
"Don't waste transfers, save them for the latter part of the season," explained Lee. "From memory, when I first went top, I had 12 left.
"Midway through the season Man City had an amazing schedule. I gambled and loaded up on their defenders, which really helped.
"And finally, I managed to get Kelechi Iheanacho just before he scored his hat-trick that kicked off his brilliant scoring run. At £3.4m he was great value."
Lee's team finished 412 points ahead of thd Koratfarang league winner Thornaby Eagles!
