I guess we have all had the experience of being seated next to an XXXXXL person on a flight   ::)    :-\

"A plus-sized influencer has demanded the Federal Aviation Authority and airlines give overweight flyers as many free seats as they require to fly comfortably. Jaelynn Chaney, a travel and lifestyle creator based in Vancouver, wants the Federal Aviation Authority to 'protect' plus-sized travelers and make flying in coach 'comfortable and accessible for everyone.' "

Maybe air fares should be on a 'per kilo' basis  ;)  but if a person can't fit in one seat, then IMO they should be required to buy two seats, (hopefully adjacent), at their own expense . . .

To Ms Chaney we should say, good try !

Good pic Eagle - actually that Guy on that Plane is a danger. In the event of Folks needing to get off the Plane quickly, he is a significant obstacle   ::)

I guess he's so big he couldn't actually sit down in one seat - he should not have been allowed to even check in having booked just one seat IMO

MMmmm (Just read the link - they gave him 3 seats).

i have only sat next to a man mountain once,  about 20 years ago and thankfully only frm bkk to india.  even so it isn't an experience i want to repeat, particularly as he was suffering from BO and what had to be terminal halitosis!  The stewardess kindly found another seat foir the third person in our row, a woman, so Mr Porky had the window and middle seats and I had the aisle.  fortunately he didnt need to get out for any reason and it was only a flight of a few hours anyway.
But should these people should be charged for taking up two seats?  IMO I think they should, after all the airline loses the revenue of the second seat.  As an aside I can't recall anywhere on the booking form that asks for your weight.
