Live Science reports that a 29 year old man was admitted into the hospital for a torn tendon in his thumb after he played Candy Crush Saga for far longer than anyone should play Candy Crush Saga. Not hours, not days, but weeks on end. We knew Candy Crush was bad for your health, we never suspected it was actually bad for your health.

What struck researchers and doctors as peculiar is that this type of tear usually is accompanied by a great deal of pain, but the patient says he experienced practically none of it while playing. Video games are known to hit the serotonin and dopamine responders of the brain (and a game like Candy Crush with its casino like gameplay hits that on a near constant basis) but to numb out the pain from a tendon tear is some next level information that researchers will be investigating further.

Life Lessons From Candy Crush Saga

In a case of 'the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing', the man went about his life, using his right hand for everyday activities while also attempting to graft his phone onto his left hand.

"Playing was a kind of secondary thing, but it was constantly on," the man was quoted as saying in the case report.

"We need to be aware that certain video games can act like digital painkillers," said Dr. Andrew Doan, a co-author of the case report and head of addictions research at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. "We have to be very cognizant that that can be abused," Doan said.

But what does "doctor" Doan know? He says we should also limit our video game playing time to 30 minutes a day and that's never going to happen, Andrew. It will never, ever happen!

So the next time a friend invites you to play Candy Crush Saga, tell them that not only will you not support them in their addiction, but you don't want to get injured on the job. These are games, they're supposed to fun. This, however, is something else entirely.

I'm on 167 and 102 on Owl.  I just got an update and it said that there now 905 levels.  Loooooong way to go.  I wonder if candycrush-cheats.com will have the new levels sometime in the future. I use that site when I get stuck.  However, there has been a few times when I got so frustrated with the game, I was ready to uninstall it.   :-\

I spent over a week on level 125 (owl) only passing it last night. Then I passed levels 126 and 127 at the first attempt and level 128 at the third attempt. I'm now on 129. For the main version, I'm now on level 201.

Level 230, and I don't play the owl version anymore because it's too frustrating. Like I said in an earlier post, many times candies cascading from the top will cause the owl to fall off when I didn't initially match any of the owl candies.  So it's a lot of luck and very little strategy.

I play Candy Crush Soda when I have the 24 hour waits with Candy Crush Saga or just want play something that is a little different.

The basic strategies for both the owl and standard versions are the same (they are identical tasks but one has the owl) but for sure more luck is required in the owl version. I don't get so frustrated now (except when the owl falls over in only 1 or 2 moves) but I still give the owl a bit of verbal abuse from time to time.  ;D

I tried the Soda game but I didn't like it so I uninstalled it. It felt very juvenile compared to Candy Crush.

Level 303. I tried the Owl version a few more times and still don't like it.  >:(  I don't think the Soda game is juvenile, it's just different in my opinion.  :)

Just started playing recently having completed all the Angry Birds games. Now on level 68 and 43 in Owl but don't understand why the Owl sometimes falls and sometimes doesn't!

Level 210 & Owl 126.
I'm ready to give up on the owl (name 'Odus'. I think it should be 'Odious').
There is just too much luck required in Owl games.
They typically give far fewer moves than the original. The difference being purely luck, whether it be from the drops and/or Moonstruck.
For too many Owl games you are left feeling that the only way to complete the level is to be lucky.
Well, I don't play the game to wait to be lucky on the nth level!

Original game is great, good balance of planning, skill & luck.
Owlgame = bag o shite (yes I'm a Manc)

I'm currently on level 245 for the standard game and 181 for the owl version. I've pretty much given up on the standard game as I find level 245 too difficult and very boring.

Don't give up Alfie. I had difficulty with level 245 also. If I remember correctly, I used some boosters to get through that level. Also on some levels, if you haven't made any moves and have zero points, you can go back and start the game again with a new board. I also go to http://candycrush-cheats.com/ to get some hints which sometimes helps.

I'm on level 440 now and have wait the 72 hours to continue.

I gave up on the Owl version a long time ago. I feel the same as dam12641 - too much luck involved.

Level 198 on owl. Yesterday I noticed it actually states it is a hard level. It's the first time I've noticed that on any level.

I'm on level 814 on Candy Crush Saga and level 479 on Candy Crush Soda. I haven't played the Owl version for a long time.

I'd like to meet the sadistic person who invented these damn addictive games. I might kick him where it really hurts!  ;)

I got to 231 for the owl version but it would not let me progress until I got past 245 for the ordinary game, which I can't - and I won't try again, so I've basically given up. However, it is a bit addictive so I've started again from scratch on my phone.

I am also stuck on level 245 and agree it is no fun trying to get past it. Still some way to go on the Owl however.

Noticed today that candy crush is giving 3 extra moves for a limited period so tried yet again level 245 and completed it at 4th attempt!
