Korat-Farang.com is a good cure for insomnia and its members are cliquey, clueless and "verging on all being dead".

Those are the views of 2 members of another forum. They are also members of this forum.

Is that a fair reflection of this forum and its members?

I also belong to a few other Forums, personally I like this one and always have. Like all Forums the subject matter is not to everyone's taste, but what may be boring to one member can be very interesting to the next, as is the case in all Forums and life interests.

These comments in my opinion read a bit like to naughty school boys sniggering at something that they find amusing. It's a pity they can't make their views known on here if as you say they are members. Perhaps that would initiate an interesting discussion on at least one point.

However if the sum total of their contribution is to cast derogatory remarks about members and the Forum then they are sad individuals indeed.

For myself, I very rarely post but to find most of the discussions useful and interesting so long may K-F.com continue and thanks to all the regular contributors and the Administrators for keeping this a happy friendly and informative place to visit.
If at first you don't succeed you are clearly not cut out for it. Give up and move on.

I agree with sfs if they have something to say about K-F and it's members then here is the place to say it.

Ironically I think Teak Door is populated by Twunts ::)

Ouch!

I'm a member of TD, but rarely visit now, not sure why really? I've always enjoyed it and the fact it's 'lightly' moderated and there is some real laugh out loud stuff on there (some of somtamslaps stuff included). And there has always been some great threads of folks travels.

But it's a huge forum and a hang out for TV exiles (which must be worn as a badge of pride), which caters for a completely different market than KF.

For me, KF is mainly a source of information, a place for local expats, or wannabe's like me, to share information and news about the town or other expats. I'm not sure about the cliquey bit though, as I always get the impression most folk on here don't actually know each other, or is that not the case? At the end of the day it's horses for courses and each has it's place and I'm not bothered in the least by these comments.

Caller, it was merely a playful retaliatory swipe at the comments from Pragmatic.

I am a member of TD but haven't been on there for years. As you say a lot of ex TV members there and if I recall correctly TD came about when Dirtydog (RIP) was banned from TV.

The old KF was more cliquey mainly because many of us used to meet up on a regular basis.

I like this forum and hope the post rate will pick up lest Admin decides its no longer worthwhile keeping it open.

I'm with Caller. TD and KF are apples and oranges. I read TD occasionally. There are some funny people over there.

I also like this forum and are also a member of TD, which I haven't been on in years, and TV. I feel like the members of K-F are more mature than TD which is to my liking. TV is good for information for wanabee and new expats. I got a lot of info about Thailand from TV before I moved to Thailand. This forum is more of a local community forum and much warmer than most forums.
