I hope I can post this here.
I have a forum of my own and have some loyal followers and i only started this forum out of desperation as the one we all posted on before closed.
I dont want to look like i stole shit from another forum, so i ask the question now to the current members, does anybody have a problem with me stealing some topic ideas from here and posting there? Different type of forum anyway, just want to be seen to have sought permission first rather than be labled a copy cat (which i would be) but got general consensus first.
:-)

I cannot see a problem, Brett. But then it's not for me to say, maybe Admin? That having been said, this forum does closely resemble another anyway!!!

Brett , I think this question shows your character, and its a rare commodity in to days take what ever you can get world, personally if some things are posted on an open internet forum and there no mention of copyright and it does not contain personal stuff , then why not . I get a lot of my ideas from other social web sites and forums , then just give then a simple twist to not make it too obvious  ;D. as for any thing I post here or on other forums and web sites , I would not object at all ,  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery  ;D . Having said that Ive seen great articles from individuals that obliviously took a great deal of time and thought to construct , in that case I all ways contact the author and ask their permissions to copy their work .

No problem for me, Brett. I think Thaiphoon summed it up well. Some stuff has been used on internet forums so often it would be hard to find the original creator. Put a twist in it and the twisted version is 'yours' - and it will be used elsewhere in the future. However, some work found on the internet is obviously the result of a lot of time and effort and it might be polite to ask the author's permissions to copy their work - or at least link to their site and give them the credit for the work. But if it's only topic ideas you want to use, just use them! I hardly think a topic idea can be 'copyrighted'. All the following replies on your forum will be original creations anyway - probably.  :D
