More Municipal Vandalism

Does anyone know why the Korat municipal vandals are ripping up the hedges and trees from the road between about the bus station, past Makro and up to the lights - so far?  I hope they are not going to destroy the rather pleasant avenue of Ton Peep and Ton Coon trees that line the road continuing north east.
