The driver, was arrested at the scene after confessing he had recently taken two amphetamine pills to ''stay awake'' on the roads. Police also found opium left in the truck and he was taken into custody

Dash cam footage from a pick-up waiting at a red light at the Sa Khwan intersection in Sa Kaeo province showed a truck plow through the red light on the opposite side of the road.  The truck driver who caused the carnage fled the scene. 77kaoded.com

As the virus takes the headlines, about everybody losing money in their business, not a lot of mention of Thailands roads, which is the biggest killer
1,262 perish in February and year's total already @ 2,650 deaths.

Senior officials have stated that the death toll annually is in excess of 20,000 and possibly as high as 26,000.

90 reported dead on Monday

As dailynews.co.th reports it's figures of 90 people died on Thailands roads on monday alone. the years total surpasses 3,000. the total for the first nine days of March to 460. as the dailynews tries to keep the issue in the public eye.

Amazing you see most with a mask but no crash helmet. Seems the government or the media make no real effort to publicise these figures or do anything about these avoidable deaths.  proper policing might help, until then people will drive how they want as most getaway with it until it.s their turn in the box.

Not only the Thais, as i have noticed foreigners, who should know better, lower their driving standards when they get here. why because most get away with it. i wonder how people would react if the news reported 90 dead in one day from this virus.

Seems people grow horns on their head getting behind the wheel of a car.  tailgaters are the worst not leaving any stopping room. madness.  just one of many of todays accidents below.

 Thai Rath reported on a collision between a truck-trailer and a pick-up just after midnight this morning on the Asia Highway in the Manorom district of Chainat in central Thailand.  An Isuzu D-Max was wedged right under the trailer with its front part protruding on the other side.  story in english
