Sad but not unexpected.  End of an era really.  I'm proud to have been an 'Elizabethan'.  Difficult act to follow.  I wish King Charles lll well.

A sad day for Britain and the world. RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. I shed a tear this morning.

Very sad RIP your Majesty, your work is now over time to rest. You will though be irreplaceable.
If at first you don't succeed you are clearly not cut out for it. Give up and move on.

Unsurprisingly there is constant news coverage following the Queen's passing. Personally I think it's too much and no doubt every blink will be covered until the funeral is over and 'normal' life is resumed. Apparently, the Bank of England deferred it's meeting about interest rates. It's mad - life must go on however sad we are.

It has been rumoured over the years that Charles and William are in favour of a 'slimmed down' monarchy. I have a suggestion to help. As King Charles III is already appointed, let's dispense with all this pointless pomp and cost and NOT have a Coronation - he is already in place and in these modern days, that'll do   8)

I'm hardly able to comprehend the idiocy of the Management of CentreParks in the UK.

Guests staying at VAST expense spanning next Monday were originally told to vacate their rooms Monday and return the following day.

The ensuing outcry resulted in the CentreParks bean brains conceding that Guests can stay Monday but not enjoy the facilities they have paid for. When in a hole keep digging   :o

I know of a certain Elizabeth that I guess would be horrified.

It's back to Butlins for me - they know how to run a Party   ;)   ::)

^ What reason did they give, Roger?

Alfie it was because Monday is Queen Elizabeth's funeral.

"Center Parcs had originally announced that it would order holidaymakers to leave its UK sites on the day of the Queen's funeral. The company was inundated with complaints after revealing that five of its parks would close for 24 hours from 10am on Monday to allow staff "to support our Queen on her final journey".

It has since reversed its decision, saying that guests will no longer be ejected on Monday."

I'm glad that Prince Harry will now be allowed to wear military dress at the Funeral - he did fight for us. For me, with Harry and sleazebag Andrew, it was always NEITHER or BOTH in this respect.

After the Funeral, I'm dreading the continuance of the Harry and Meghan saga. It's a time to pull together - more of their snitching will drive the Royal Family and the media crazy.   :(

Thanks, Roger.

The company said in a statement it had made the decision “as a mark of respect and to allow as many of our colleagues as possible to be part of this historic moment”. It added: “We hope our guests will understand our decision to support our Queen on her final journey.”

Bonkers.
