Grandstand tickets have been sold out

The second PTT Thailand Grand Prix is expected to be bigger and better than the inaugural edition, organisers said on Thursday.

This year's event will again be held at Chang International Circuit in Buri Ram from Oct 4-6.

Last year's race weekend was the most attended and voted the best of the season, with more than 220,000 people passing through the turnstiles over three days.

Honda's five-time world champion Marc Marquez was crowned the first Thailand Grand Prix champion.

"With its huge success last year, the 2019 PTT Thailand Grand Prix is expected to attract more fans. This will help generate more income for the country," Sports Authority of Thailand governor Gongsak Yodmani told a press conference.

Tanaisiri Charnwittayarom, managing director of Chang International Circuit, said this year's race will be more competitive.

"We are confident that we will be able to take care of fans from around the world better this year because of our experience from organising last year's event," he said.

"We will use the experience to make it a better event."

Tickets starting from 2,000 baht are available at 7-Eleven shops and www.allticket.com.

However, Tanaisiri said grandstand tickets have been sold out.
