Inflation in Thailand . . . ? and a 65" TV for peanuts . . .

I see some prices going up - Meiji milk is now 95 baht from 90.75, butter UP to 120/130 baht from 90 and some streets food up to 45 baht from 40, bread up a little, most 5 kg packs of rice up too. ('Imperial' butter blend still 80 baht in Makro).

In Tesco (Chantaburi) briefly today, there were Smart 65" TV 's of unknown brand at around 12,000 baht. I've been wishing my brilliant 12 year old Samsung 40" would wear out soon so I can go 'Smart' and the 40'" at Tesco today was 6,000 baht     Staggering value . . . .

Yes, a few prices have gone up recently.

Some examples I can think of.

CP double pork burger: from 40 to 42.
Dutch Mill protein drink: from 39 to 44/45.
7-11 coffee (hot latte): from 25 to 30.

I went shopping this afternoon and noticed some more price increases.

Lipton Yellow Label teabags 25 pack - from 74 to 80 baht in Big C (they are still 74 baht in 7-11)
Nestle Gold honey flakes (60g packet) - from 25 to 28 baht.
Cocomax coconut water (350ml bottle) - from 25 to 28 baht.
Kellog's cereal 30g packs - from 10 to 11 baht.

To be fair, the Kellog's individual packs have been 10 baht for as long as I can remember so an extra baht rise is probably due.

Here's a good one - the cost of sending a Christmas card to the UK - THB135 - in 2020 it was about THB25. Ouch !!

Inflation is not localized to the US or UK as we are seeing it in Thailand. The Thai baht has lost some value over the last year which means imports are costing more.
