Joe Biden has been around a while and before he, (hopefully IMHO), is consigned to history . . . .

"Joe Biden’s officials have been temporarily banned from meeting with social media company executives after a court decided there was evidence they sought to suppress free speech during the pandemic. A judge backed claims that the US president’s administration, including the White House, had engaged in a “massive” attempt to stop Americans questioning the efficacy of vaccines online. . . .

. . . In his ruling, the judge banned government departments from contacting social media companies for “the purpose of urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech

Biden is often mooted as being anti-UK. The USA being the major contributor to NATO since it's inception, should have a major say in who heads up NATO, but, after his pressures to reject Ben Wallace, who seemed to me a good candidate, he is now putting forward Ms. Von der Leyen as the answer. MMmmmm

I seem to remember her EU appointment was ridiculed at the time because of her record as a Minister in Germany, but anyway, her experience of defence/military matters is surely imited ? Happily, Jens Stoltenberg is to stay on for another year . . . . .
