I see in the BP today that the Kingdom has a cunning plan to become yet another 'hub'; this time the e-vehicle production hub of (?) SE Asia?  The National New Generation Vehicle Committee (yes, another committee!) has set a goal for motorists to be driving 1.05 million electric vehicles on Thai roads by 2025: 402,000 cars and pickup trucks, 622,000 motorcycles and 31,000 buses and trucks. It reckons that by 2030 the total number of e-vehicles in Thailand should increase to 6.22 million and 15.58 million  by 2035.  Wow!  These statistics are almost as impressive as those from TAT about projected numbers of tourists!  Unfortunately the Committee didn't mention either pricing or charging facilities.

I see from the BP Editorial today that I am not alone in thinking that the government's aspirations for the production and use of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is just a touch fanciful.  However, whilst the editorial is couched in terms of suggesting the government get its act together as regards EVs, it fails to offer any suggestions as to how it might do this.  I suspect that in the end it will be about as well thought through as the government's vaccination plan!

It's inevitable as most car manufactures will only be producing eclectic vehicles by 2035.

A nice typo RdRo...! "eclectic"  = borrowing freely from various sources.    But you're right about most manufacturers producing only EVs by then, but my point, I suppose, is the mess that this country is going to create for itself as it tries to get there.

Not just one but two new hubs that day (March 25). The second one is about space industry: https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30404132
