Bye, folks.

Do you live in Thailand? How do you reconcile the rampant sexism, racism and every other 'ism' you see here, with what is happening in the West?

Hi Teess - when you say 'his', you mean Fadang ? I'm not clear . . .

If you mean you see Fadang's point of view - great and I'd like to understand that other way of thinking about all this.

Should the Brecon Beacons be renamed - (because beacons are polluting as wood is burning) ?

Should drag queens be telling 8 year olds there are 72 'genders' at School ? Etc. etc.

Should the IoM cricket team be all out for 11 ? (wink)

Should 'Single-sex schools be forced to accommodate transgender pupils' ?

I would love to hear the other view/views for which, there is always room on K-F IMHO

And there's more :-

"Society is in danger of demonising boys and young men. They are lambasted in schools by toxic masculinity crusaders and denigrated in popular culture. This environment is having a crushing impact. According to the Health Department, suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50 and around three-quarters of deaths from suicides each year are men. Research from Future Dads last year showed that around a third of young men felt left behind by society.

Commentary routinely seems to present boys as inherently bad. The impression is given that parents cannot be trusted to raise them as good citizens, leading to the worrying conclusion that outside organisations should do the job for them. But some organisations which come into schools and talk to boys have developed a habit of telling them to move away from “toxic” masculinity. That, in my view, feeds into a sense of uneasiness.

There urgently needs to be more public and parental scrutiny of this type of content. We need to know exactly what is being said to boys in educational settings. I remain hopeful that the Government’s review on Relationship, Health and Sex Education (RHSE) will lead to firmer guidance on bringing external groups into schools, but it may also need to reinstate a right for parents to first view, and then withdraw their children from workshops that they deem harmful and oppressive to their children
."

Seems reasonable ? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/04/17/boys-have-been-left-devastated-woke-attitude-to-masculinity/

Lia Thomas, a Man, when identifying as a Man, then ranked 462 in the USA. When he decided to identify as a Woman, he/she started winning races.

Riley Gaines, protesting aspects of this situation, facing up to a widespread conspiracy of silence, trying to speak at a University, was abused, hounded, and locked up for hours by the 'genderists'.

In this piece she speaks calmly, bravely, and with a frightening clarity about just how far this nonsense has gone. In the UK too. Very much worth a watch IMHO

This is absolute nonsense - women's cycling has biological men of trans inclination, dominating their sport  ::)

"Leading British cyclists are scared to speak out against the sport's transgender policies amid fears of being cancelled and losing sponsorship deals, Telegraph Sport understands. Insiders also describe a mood of "fear and loathing" among International Cycling Union [UCI] hierarchy who are said to be at odds over potentially toughening eligibility rules again. Simmering disenchantment among racers as well as rulemakers comes amid fresh concern for female categories after the biggest victory for a transgender rider in a women's race so far.

Austin Killips's first prize for women at the Tour of the Gila, the premier road race in New Mexico, prompted immediate calls for a rethink on rules drafted just last year.
"

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2023/05/02/british-cyclists-scared-trans-athletes-austin-killips/

"It marked the most significant result yet for Killips, a trans-identifying biological male from Chicago, who also won a medal in women’s cyclo-cross at the US National Championships and who is now tipped to challenge for a place at the Tour de France Femmes and at next summer’s Paris Olympics."

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2023/05/01/austin-killips-transgender-cyclist-wins-race-tour-gila/

"Killips’ victory has already been framed as a “Lia Thomas moment” for cycling, mirroring the scandal that erupted when Thomas, born male and ranked 554th in men’s 200-yard freestyle swimming in the US, transferred to the female event and won the national collegiate final."

This week a man claiming to be a trans woman was jailed for nine years for raping a young girl. Throughout the trial the court referred to him as "she" and discussed how "she" used "her" penis to commit the rape. Have we gone mad?

In short Hector - YES we have (gone mad) !  Or rather, we haven't, 'they' have.

Moving on - I heard about this on the Radio recently and was gobsmacked. - "Labour plans to give people the legal right to work from home as part of its election manifesto . . . . . The policy to make flexible working the default option is featured in an extensive list of proposals being formally weighed up, which has been leaked. The key line proposes: 'Make flexible working the default from day one for all workers, except where it is not reasonably feasible.'"

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12078863/Labour-make-working-home-human-right-election-manifesto.html

During the pandemic 'working from home' was an obvious ploy but it's quite unbelievable that some workers apparently then refused to return to the office - are the Employers afraid to sack them? In my day that would have been ok and bye bye - summary dismissal  >:(  Now Labour intend to give working from home, as a right.

I would like to vote Labour but it's not gonna happen - Starmer is being ruled by his loony gang.

Labour are also apparently proposing to make it easier to strike. OMG  ::)

The Woke Warriors have a new hero

Or a classic example of why this country is well and truly f***ked…

..and will be doubly so if Labour gets into power.

Yes, the tragic tale of Mr. Ian Clifford, our valiant IT worker, who has suffered the great indignity of receiving a mere £54,000 annually for the arduous task of... not working at all. Since 2008, Clifford has been on a well-deserved sick leave, bravely combating the strain of... well, we're not exactly sure what.

In a move of unparalleled audacity, Clifford has cried foul over his employer, the small, struggling firm known as IBM, for not increasing his salary during his 15-year hiatus from actual work. One must truly marvel at the gall. His pay, he says, is "not generous enough". Truly, it's a heartbreaking scenario, where £54,000 a year for doing absolutely nothing somehow fails to meet the bar of generosity.

Our hero's battle reached a fever pitch at an employment tribunal, where he valiantly argued that his compensation was insufficient and would "wither" over time due to the ferocious beast known as inflation. Ah yes, the cruel fate of stagnant wages while not working, a plight familiar to... well, no one else, really.

In 2013, IBM, in an act of surprising leniency, placed Clifford on a disability plan. A plan that doesn't require him to work, yet still pays him 75% of his agreed earnings until he either recovers, retires, or... you know, doesn't make it. Clifford's agreed salary was £72,037, which means that until the tender age of 65, he will have received more than £1.5 million for his valuable contributions of... well, nil.

And yet, our under-appreciated IT specialist wasn't content. In 2022, he sought to once again face off against IBM at an employment tribunal with new claims of disability discrimination, citing the shocking lack of salary increases and holiday entitlements during his 15-year holiday.

Alas, his pleas fell on deaf ears. Employment Judge Paul Housego, clearly lacking the refined sense of justice necessary to grasp Clifford's struggle, dismissed his case. A tragic end to a saga of indomitable courage and unparalleled entitlement.

I read that too Jivvy and could hardly believe my eyes !!

Unbelievable and IBM have no doubt rued the day they indulged him in this . . . .

Clifford had the neck to complain about holiday entitlements  ::)

Lucky lad ain't he ? In this case, IBM have been suckers  :o

An afterthought - can't Clifford actually work from home - even part time ??

Spot the odd one out!

I know there will be those that disagree. But stories like this are just so perverse, so dumb, so crass, so obviously and profoundly stupid, that its hard to grasp that such decisions are being taken by otherwise sane people.

Yup, you guessed it, another hard on creep, claiming he is a woman, gets admitted to an all ladies college and accommodation. Social media goes further than this rather tame article. And why are the The Times referring to him as a 'trans woman', when he is a bloke? I thought that was for those that have had the op? Or is that UK law now?  As ever, the comments are worth a look (for a giggle or two).

From The Times:

A group of female students at the University of Wyoming has sued the college after a trans woman joined their sorority chapter.

Seven of the sorority sisters say they “live in constant fear in our home” after Artemis Langford, 21, joined the Kappa Kappa Gamma house. They say in the lawsuit, in which they refer to Langford as Terry Smith and use he and him pronouns, that the student has become “aroused” in their company.

Langford has already moved out of the sorority house, but the lawsuit says the student still regularly attends meals and events, and socialises with others in Kappa Kappa Gamma.

“An adult human male does not become a woman just because he tells others that he has a female ‘gender identity’ and behaves in what he believes to be a stereotypically female manner,” says the lawsuit, which was filed in the US District Court for Wyoming on Monday.

“The Fraternity Council has betrayed the central purpose and mission of Kappa Kappa Gamma by conflating the experience of being a woman with the experience of men engaging in behaviour generally associated with women.”

The rights of trans people has become a touchstone issue on university campuses across America, with heated clashes taking place between those advocating for greater acceptance and those who say that trans women in particular pose a risk to the safety of female students.

“It’s a weird, gut-wrenching feeling that every time I leave my room there’s a possibility that I’ll walk past him in the hall,” one of the sorority sisters, identified only as Hannah, told a podcast hosted by Megyn Kelly, a prominent conservative broadcaster.

“It’s a weird feeling just to know that I could run into him anytime … [Langford] has full access to the house. But this just goes to show we need women’s spaces for that reason.

“Our house is our home. Just like anyone else’s home, you go home at the end of the day to feel comfortable and relaxed in your own skin. And you can’t do that knowing that this individual has full access to your house.”

Another student said the situation was particularly distressing because some of her sisters had been “sexually assaulted or sexually harassed” and wanted to feel safe inside the house.

“So some girls live in constant fear in their home and our home is supposed to be a safe space,” said the young woman, who, like the other students, was not identified by name.

The lawsuit alleges that Langford stared at the women without talking for hours. The student has appeared in several group photographs with members of the sorority, which have subsequently been posted on social media sites.

The women say in their action that the national Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, its national council president and Langford put pressure on the University of Wyoming’s local chapter in granting the student membership. They add that Kappa Kappa Gamma is a “single-gender” organisation.
Kari Kittrell Poole, the executive director of the sorority, told the Associated Press that the lawsuit “contains numerous false allegations”.

The seven women are demanding that Langford’s membership of the sorority be terminated and the award of unspecified damages.

Now Adidas try to follow Nike and Budweiser using really weird thinking on how to attract customers. Words fail me, nearly. Here's the DT view and a link to the DM for more.

"Adidas has come under fire for advertising a female-style swimming costume using a model with a penis.

The swimsuit, launched as part of the brand’s Pride Rich Mnisi collection in collaboration with South African designer Rich Mnisi, is on sale in the UK for £50. The model, who appears to be male, is 6ft 2in.

The move has prompted criticism from campaigners for women’s equality in sport, who argue that the use of a biologically male model for a women’s swimsuit creates unrealistic body expectations for women.

Sharron Davies, former Olympian swimmer and the author of Unfair Play, a book critiquing the inclusion of biological males in women’s sport, wrote on social media: “Yet again a male gets paid to advertise a product that’s vastly aimed at women who are physically a different shape

'Snowflake children'   :-\

". . . . .expectations of students of all abilities certainly used to be much higher than they are today. Indeed, last week offered a pitiable spectacle of how things have changed. Children were reportedly left sobbing in school at the sight of the new Year 6 Sats reading paper.

In the past, difficulty might have been seen as a good thing: a challenge to pupils and a spur for them to work for their grades. Now, it is an alarm bell signalling a threat to the mental health of young people. Thus the likes of Kerry Forrester, the head at a Cheshire primary school, warning about the “negative impact” of the tests. This fits: it is commonplace to hear about children becoming distraught the moment they can’t get a question right first try, or if something they have done is returned for correction. It’s a terrible sign of what is to come: if they cry at a tricky test question, how will they cope with life, the ultimate tricky test?
. . . . .

. . . . . I took a look at some of the questions and the answers should be blindingly obvious to anyone with any reading and writing ability at all."

Should we worry about Teachers too ? As they object to Ofsted inspections, (but actually, from what I hear, Ofsted inspections can be lofty and unpleasant, which is not necessary).

Now Calvin Klein - I'll have to burn my Y-fronts now   ;)

"Calvin Klein has employed a model, who identifies as a transgender man, to advertise a sports bra. The fashion brand has faced criticism on social media with people claiming they were confused over the decision. Some questioned whether the brand had, in attempting to “appease a minority”, alienated cisgender female shoppers from purchasing the bras.

The advert featured Bappie Kortram, a bearded trans model from the Netherlands, who last year raised thousands of pounds online to remove his breasts. The model was pictured kissing and fondling another model in the advert for the sports bra, which is sold for £28 in a “rainbow” of colours, in a nod to the Pride Flag
."

OMG - will this madness ever cease ?
