The perils of modern existence illustrated in Cardiff last night. Numbhead social media inspired blockheads to congregate and riot after 2 teenagers are killed in a road event.

The Police taking the initial hysterical blame. The 16 and 15 year old were on a single electric bicycle, (made for two?), no helmets, no insurance and moving at 20 mph or more ?

My initial thought, were the Police 'CHASING' or just 'FOLLOWING' - let's face it, you don't have to 'chase' an overloaded electric bike in a high powered police van. The Police were 'following' with no lights no sirens and rightly so  :(

How close ? What does it matter, as far as I can tell, the Police were not part of the accident itself . . .

What about the responsibility of the Parents who doubtless paid for the 'bike' and didn't control it's use ? What about the Boys fooling around like that ?

As for the rioting, anyone found involved in turning and burning cars, I wish them 5 long years confined.

Media and social media hysteria whipping up mischievous idiots. R.I.P. the Lads, one of whom was old enough to join the Army and/or get married and the other who was months away from adulthood. Sad - but are the police to blame  :-\   ???

Following on from the previous post - "The mother of a teenager who died in a fatal e-bike crash in Cardiff that sparked a night of rioting has accused the police of “killing my son” as CCTV emerged revealing officers were following the boys just minutes before" and "Speaking at a vigil for the two boys on Wednesday evening, Belinda Sullivan told the Telegraph: “The police killed my son. I’ve got nothing else to say.” "

My heart goes out to this Family for their loss, truly, but talk like this is hysterical, incendiary and defamatory.

A vigil indeed - this seems to be a frequent feature these days - next there will be crowdfunding. And Mum it would have been better to teach the poor Lads some more responsible behaviour. If the Lads must have been traveling on the edge of danger and if they knew they were being followed by the Police, why didn't they stop ? But R.I.P.

The Police were right to follow the Lads who were surely putting themselves and others at hazard and breaking the Law or Laws  :-\  This is tragic of course, but we must support the Police when they act reasonably.
