I had to send over a few quid from UK yesterday, which got me 44.1.

That's despite the state of the UK's economy  . . . . I'm guessing it's the prospect of UK interest rates remaining at 5% or more . . . . . . and the continuing concern at the failure of Thailand's transition to the newly elected Government?

Whatever the reasons, it's good for those with UK incomes and pensions

What I was trying to say is that Wise haven't physically transferred any money to Thailand. Once the money is deposited to their account into the UK, the equivalent amount as already agreed, is paid in Thai Baht from their account in Thailand, to your account in Thailand. The time scales, when that quick, are still impressive though.

It's the same principal as used by Western Union, money gram and countless unofficial, unlicensed similar operations in the UK, used to send money to Countries such as Iran, Iraq, Somalia er al.

Its been a long wait fro THB 37 last year . . . . .

Is the market hoping that the bond market turmoil will cause the UK to increase interest rates again ? No idea - but I'll take it !
