Title: Thailand football
Post by: Roger on December 06, 2018, 01:58:17 PM
Did anyone see Thailand v Malaysia last night - second leg of the semi final of the Suzuki Cup?

It was 0-0 after the 1st leg which Malaysia dominated and looked by far the better side. Thailand did better last night but Malaysia played well again.

At 2-2 in the last minute, Thailand got a penalty for a blatant handball. Adisak Kraisorn who is a good striker, made a hesitating move to shoot and the goalie moved to his left - leaving an almost empty goal. Leaning back nicely, Adisak got his foot well under the ball and chipped it maybe 4 metres over the bar. Worst penalty ever  ;)  How embarassing and heartbreaking for Adisak and Thailand who were then eliminated on away goals.

Both games had a lot of feigning injury and there was a deal of sneaky and nasty play. One Malay, backing into two players jumping high for the ball - dangerous - fortunately, he was hurt himself. Many many tackles taking legs wilfully with no hope of the taking the ball. Clipping heels etc. And going to head the ball with no eyes on it or chance of getting it. Dirty stuff.

Better luck next time Thailand  :)

Malaysia were technically superior in both legs and showed greater determination. That penalty just landed in my back yard!!!
Pretty mediocre as usual from Thailand. They should be bossing other ASEAN teams.

Hi TW. Malaysia were just too good but Thailand had played well in the other games IMO and after all, Thailand are previous Suzuki winners 4 times ? Disappointing indeed.  Adisak   ::)

I'll take the opportunity to congratulate you sincerely on your lamentable (from my angle) score of 9  :o  and also to the Wolves for a great win.

Have to tell you that after a slow start to the Season, under new Manager, Gary Johnson, Torquay United TOP the National League (South)    :)    ATB
