Hospital Recommendation

Hi all,

Our 9 month old grandson was born with a sixth digit on his right hand which we would like to have removed before he gets much older. Can anyone recommend a hospital in Korat that may specialise in this type of surgery.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

SFS - quite a rare problem isn't it ? Any paediatrician should be able to direct you to a specialist somewhere. Depends on the budget but the top surgeons will be at Maharat . . . where there are private rooms. Good luck with it.

Check out Bangkok Hospital, Korat. If they can not perform the operation they have many hospitals in their network that may help. Good luck. Please let us know what the outcome is. Thanks.

I agree RDRO - when budget allows - Bangkok Hospital or even Bumrungrad in BKK are the first resort. St Mary's is OK too IMO.

In Korat, the Surgeons at Bangkok Hospital are often based at Maharat. So you can pay at Maharat probably much less, and get the same Doc. But of course, there's the queueing at Maharat

Thank you for your replies I really appreciate your suggestions. We are back in Korat in March so will visit a few of the hospitals recommended and see what can be done.

Once of my concerns with doing nothing Alfie is the potential teasing he will endure during his school life, growing up is sometimes hard enough as it is so anything we can do to make that easier for him would be our preferred route.

I will update with the outcome in the future and once again thank you for responding.
