KC thanks for that link which seems to back up other investigations/conclusions and what we already know from China itself - there seems little doubt as to the origins of Covid-19.

China must be held responsible in any way possible when all this is over.

RDRO - 11 to 15 - let's hope they all do well - and stay safe yourself.

I see in the Bkk Post the PM is now obliquely threatening a 24 hour curfew!  Heaven help us!  If there is one thing generated to provoke panic buying it is that!

Thanks to Thaiga/Tiggs.

"After twenty minutes the reluctant health authorities were obliged to back down and the group were allowed to go into a 14 day quarantine at their homes. The Department of Health said that three of the group with fever had already been found. These disappeared in the crowds taking advantage of the confusion."

To me this is a bloody outrage - they should be taken to quarantine at gunpoint if necessary  >:(

I imagine the Army will be out in full force soon. They are now helping the police at road stops for the current curfew. If the current curfew is expanded you will see more of the Army. Then comes marshal law.

152 sought for quarantine report to authorities: police

"All 152 Thai people mistakenly allowed to go home after returning to the country on Friday have reported to the authorities as requested, police said on Saturday."

Source: https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/1893495/152-quarantine-dodgers-report-to-authorities-police

------------

However I heard in morning news today about at least one of those returnees who had to be forcibly taken away from her home in Sung Noen, Nakhon Ratchasima, as she refused till the end to go on her own will.

Good news Anton thanks.

Thanks to Thaiga for this link to the Thai Govt's daily briefing for 5th April. IMO it's a very valuable effort and well done Mr. Natapanu Nopakun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Well this document says there will be a 24 hour curfew for a week starting on the 11th. Someone is not telling the truth.

Where did you get this document from?

On another forum:
"There will be no extension to the current curfew in Thailand, the government said on Monday.

Over the weekend, rumours circulated on social media that an announcement of a 24 hour curfew was imminent.

However, two government officials on Monday said that there are no plans to order a 24 hour curfew any time soon."

Came from a whistleblower off of a Thai website. I can't read the date as it is too blurred. It is either the 5 or 6. As I said someone is not telling the truth. Maybe they changed their minds???

Hi RDRO / Eagle. A discussion document I guess. You have it from the Govt. spokesman today, that the 24 hr curfew is a social media rumour and there are penalties for repeating such. A 24 hour curfew would be ridiculous at this stage but they might make the 10pm earlier I suppose.

Crikey things are bad enough without rumours. TCOY's

But this other article, also dated yesterday, tells a different story:

From the US Embassy. Looks like no incoming flights until at least April 19.

Event:  Incoming International Commercial Flights Banned Until April 18, 2020

CAAT Extends Bans On All Arriving International Commercial Aircraft Until April 18, 2020

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has extended its prohibition on all international commercial passenger flights until 11:59 p.m. on April 18, 2020.  Still permitted are state or military aircraft, aircraft requesting emergency landing/technical landing, humanitarian aid/medical/relief flights, aircraft allowed to make repatriation flights, and cargo aircraft.  Passengers on aircraft which had departed the origin airports before the notification was issued will be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

Why all of this scaremongering about the 24-hour curfew spectre? Don't you see they're using it as a paper tiger? There are several good reasons to trust they'll never impose such a drastic measure on the whole country.
