Not a subject heading that many people would expect to see but, hey ho!

Many years ago I was heavily "into" juicing and blends. That all went by the wayside - long, sad, personal story. Anyhoo, I desperately feel the need to get the juice flowing again (so to speak)! I have bought myself a juicer and blender and managed to buy some fruit / vegetable ingredients. Was in Big C today and realized that one of my go to, essential root vegetables (Raw Beetroot) was something I have never seen in Thailand. I've even done a search on the internet. Loads of articles on how to cook them but nothing about RAW beets in Thailand. Do they exist, does anyone know??

Thanks - Allan

Just realised - this should probably have been posted in restaurants / food. Sorry mods.

Not 'raw' but Korat Chef sell a good sized jar of pickled beetroots at B99 - excellent. As Caller says, the raw one can be seen in Makro.

(FWIW thanks for caring but this category is good I would have thought).

I've seen fresh beetroot for sale. Tesco's I think. My wife buys them from time to time. Try the larger Tesco stores. I think I've also seen them in the Mall in Freshmart (or whatever it's called now).

Makro always have them.  I buy them there quite often.

My wife tells me that they have fresh beetroot in Gourmet Market in the Mall, she knows because she works there and sells it

I confirm for the Tesco Lotus main store on Mitthapap downtown Korat. Not always but often they have it, I bought it there more than once in the past year or two.

Hi all, - happy now. Was at the Central Plaza yesterday and whilst I was waiting for my "office chair" to be put together in the shop, we did some shopping at the Topps store in there. Quite a good selection of "farang foodstuff" including, of course, the beloved raw beets! Time to get juicy!
