What are you listening to now?
« on: May 13, 2011, 12:23:17 PM »

What music are you listening to now?

This morning I woke up to the sound of wai jai dai gaa by Lanna Cummins, a Thai pop song from about 7 years ago. It's a nice, pleasant fun song sung by a luke kreung from Chiang Mai.

After that, I listened to an old favourite of mine, Kon Tang Kon by Tai Tanawut (คนทั้งคน - ไทธนาวุฒิ ). It's from 2003. I used to love singing this song in the various karaoke places in Korat. Great memories of great nights out.  :)

Earlier today i was listening to some morlam sing.
Missus likes the music, i like the girls dancing, but really i like the music too.
I dont know in Thai, maybe you guys can get your missus to find it on youtube, sure it will be there.
Missus calls him best i can understand her either "od for ed" or "ot for et"
Good luck with that one.

Hi Brett

I like a bit of morlam too but I don't know who your wife is referring to. Here's some of my favourite stuff, from 2004 IIRC. The group is Rock Sadert (Rock Saderd) accompanied by the lead singer "Yu" (who greatly improves the band IMO).

1. Soi Sadert,    2. Paw Ga-turn    3. Hai Tong Kam  4. Ai Geup Sawoy

Yeh I like it too, silly as it sounds, i find it relaxing.
Lek was saying what she could hear of it (coz still in bed and computer in living room) that it sounds like some words are Thai and some Kmher. These people come from anywhere along the boarder?

Hi Alfie,
Spot on,
I love this dude, i can listen forever.
If you happen to find anymore, please feel free to post them.
I especially love his dancers! Thinking about trading mine in for a newer version.

Funny enough, i was listening to OD Four s again tonight, if it isnt them it is Carabao.
We were luck enough to see them live here in Melbourne.
We went with another couple of friend we know (with farang husband who hate a beer like me) we made a night of it and stayed in a hotel overnight, jee it was a good night.
I dont know what they are singing, well actually i dont understand what they are saying but Lek has explained to me each song what they are singing about. I love their style and they were so good live.
It cost us 60 bucks to sit close to the stage, Lek reckons it would cost the equivelant to see them there.
So i was happy :-) And Bparn yes please, she is great.

In 1970? A schoolboy! Too young to be a Mod or a Rocker. In my older days, I had a motorbike, a leather jacket and was into rock music. I never considered myself a "rocker" though. Just a biker. I think the Mod and Rocker thing was before my time.

I knew I would be the oldest person on this forum  :'(  , I now feel so bad its put me right off my nightly cup of Tesco coco and
the vigorous rub down with Johnsons Baby Oil I normally get before I slip into my silk Dame Edna Everage limited edition pajamas .

I have this permanently on emergency music stand by , volume set to high , close you eyes and imagine this , there I am sitting in my old comfy chair , clutching an old dog-eared copy of The Sun newspaper , I hear foot steps on the gravel drive way , I dart over to the window to be met with a sight that would normally turn any married man instantly to stone . The wife marching towards the house like a Death Star storm trouper her face like thunder , her eyes on fire , a look that announces she's not a happy bunny , my mind goes into guilt overload , what have I done wrong now , the footsteps get closer , I press the music centre play button and return to my old comfy chair clasping my trusty lightsaber . She of the Dark side is about to step through the door way,  I can never win , I am doomed  :(

Play this and you can just feel Mrs Vader coming down the gravel drive way  ;D

I've never met your wife so I'll have to say the music  ;)   But your wife does sound scary  :-[

Alfie , may be not scary just a little over powering if you come across her on a dark night , here's a shot I took at a fancy dress party we attended last year , decide for your self ?

Mmm.  An interesting mix of sexy and scary with a hint of masculine make-up to widen the appeal.  ;)  :D  :o

I will pass on your kind words to Mrs Vader as soon as she returns from her evening Kung Fu class .  ;D

My old dad once said, Son I can teach you one of two things , how to play the Cello or how to pick some ones pocket .

I wish I had chosen the first one  ;D
