Earlier this evening I watched a TV programme on Thai PBS, a Thai satellite channel. A Thai presenter interviewed Asif Ahmad, British Ambassador to Thailand, Prince Andrew of the UK and another man that I could not identify - but he could have been the owner of a British art gallery. The interviews were conducted in English and Thai subtitles were provided.

The interviewer focused on issues of the monarchy, always in relation to the UK. The discussions included the role of the monarch, the relationship between the monarch and parliament, succession, respect of the monarch and monarchy, Lese Majeste and republicanism (remember, each topic was only with regard to the UK).

As the issues discussed are very controversial in Thailand, I found the discussions and broadcast on a Thai TV station to be ...... interesting.

Did anybody else see the programme?
