Thai Lessons.
« on: October 12, 2012, 03:40:20 PM »

Where is a good place to learn Thai in Korat?

I remember reading somewhere that there is a place near The George and Dragon that has a good teacher.

My Thai is ok ish but I want to learn the basic grammar rules etc and would like someone to teach me rather than learning from errghhh other Thai people I know. Better I think.

Many thanks.

Angsta,
i think the place you're talking about is thelanguage school (big orange place) on the corner right next door to G&D. The lady who owns it is married to an aussie from memory and I know one guy who was learning there. He said it was good but expensive.
sorry can't remember the names etc.

I have tried most things from books to c.d's to computer programs, but 1 on 1

with this Teacher is by far the quickest and most enjoyable way i have found,

she also speaks very good English..

Pheu Thai MP Sunai Julphongsathorn implied that the best way to study a foreign language was by sleeping with a foreigner.

So if you want to speak fluent Thai, sleep with a Thai lady ... ::)

I don't think when you sleep you can speak.
You speak to foreigners so that you can get their languages, don't you?  ;D

As you seem unable to communicate without using profanities, presumably you wish to learn how to swear in the Thai language.

Great movie: The Sleeping Dictionary

BTW - I long ago gave up any thought of ever being able to speak Thai; even with a "sleeping "dictionary"....

(ps one would snore after the other)

Learning Thai with Rosetta Stone ...

Govt wants Youtube sex spoof removed

Quote from: Bangkok Post
The government plans to ask YouTube to remove a video clip mocking the sex industry in Thailand.

The clip is a parody of a commercial for the Rosetta Stone foreign language learning programme. The spoof was produced by popular American late-night television show Saturday Night Live.

In the video, foreigners are interested in learning the Thai language so they know how to say things like, "How much?", "Is that for the whole night?" or "How can I take off your clothes?" in Thai.
