It is a bit sad if real, but at the end of the day, they already know that.
Same as when they have babies, they instinctively know what to do.
They are supposed to be rather smart animals, surely they already know?
They would have seen others die before.

I think it's supposed to be some kind of joke. If it's supposed to be real, it's not very convincing. And the throw away comment at the end adds to my suspicions it's a wind up.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

I agree Brett. They know. If it wasn't a wind up the gorilla should have smashed the red brick, green brick, blue brick into their silly smug faces.  ;D
