Hi Kev. I see Melyianna comments on 'Avanta' in Reply 9 - it's 15km from Suvarnabhumi and a 20 minute drive in the middle of the night. HL's Floral Shire sounds OK and Vismaya is pretty good. A vast choice on booking.com etc. GL Wooley. Enjoy.

I always stay at The Paragon on Lat Krabang, easy to find, good food, pool and only 10 mins from airport on their shuttle bus.  You can also leave your car there quite safely.  Price per room is about 1000 Baht

Personally I really dont understand this fixation with pools....lol
Admittedly, Mel in answer 9 states she spent three days at her hotel but generally speaking I am sure most people are like me, and just use the airport hotels as a convenience stop when leaving early the next morning or arriving later in the evening.
The last thing I have on my mind when travelling is jumping in a pool.
For me whats important is a clean bed, a free shuttle, a reasonable price and to spend as little time as possible there.....lol

Hector - how much does The Paragon charge for car parking ? Vismayah is B50 and has a roof and is reasonably secure being just over the Soi from the Hotel.

HL - not a fixation. Just a nice relaxer before the flight - a swim and a small Chang. Lovely.

More on Koh Lanta Restaurant, at the top of King Keaw Rd. A great place - have a look at the Gallery in this link. Beautiful place but not expensive.

Floral Shire Resort was free when I left my car there for three weeks.

When it boils down to it every hotel has got something going for it, its just personal tastes, requirements and desires.
Although I have used the Floral Shire many times over the years it really doesnt bother me if people choose another hotel. We all just speak as we find.
Good luck in your choice.
