Leicester have sacked 3 players for their part in the "Bangkok Racism Orgy".

Quote
Leicester have sacked all three players who appeared in a sexually explicit video made last month in Bangkok and showing them racially abusing a Thai woman. The firing of the three players, including the son of manager Nigel Pearson, was announced by the Premier League, rather than the club.

James Pearson, the son of Foxes boss Nigel Pearson, Tom Hopper and Adam Smith, appeared in the video, made in Bangkok during the club's end-of-season "goodwill tour" of Thailand. It documented several crude remarks, including one of two Thai women being called a "slit-eye".

I think it was stupid of them to video their antics (the video was later posted on Youtube) but I also think it's an over-reaction to what was said and done, but that seems to be par for the course these days.

Whaddaya think?

The whole team were ambassadors for Leicester City F.C, a club owned by a Thai consortium.
Common sense should have told them not to do anything to bring the club and owners into disrepute.
The club had no option other than to terminate their contracts.

The club must have been aware of the consequences of taking fit young wealthy men to Thailand and of the risk of misbehaviour. I would have thought the players would have been told that such misdemanours would not be tolerated and sovdeserve their punishment. If they were not told beforehand the club deserves the embarrassment that has been caused. LP

I am sorry Teesider but I can't agree with you. You said yourself "fit young wealthy MEN", so why are you saying that the club should treat them like "children".
The rest of the clubs entourage didn't splash their holiday antics all over the internet so do we assume then that the club did warn them!!!
No it's just three idiots who keep their brains in their trousers after having been blessed with an opportunity that millions of kids can only dream about and they throw it away for a moments stupidity.

I am in no way condoning the players behaviour; they do deserve to be sacked. However if the club did not dictate that such behaviour would not reflect well on a Thai-owned club they can hardly be surprised at what happened. Footballers are not well known for their intelligence and discretion.

They will be able to use their MBA's to continue their corporate careers on the local building site, doing day work, dreaming of what might have been.

Sex-tape duo find new clubs after Leicester axe

LEICESTER, UNITED KINGDOM — Two of the three players sacked by Premier League club Leicester City after appearing in a racist sex video have found new clubs, it was announced on Friday.

Goalkeeper Adam Smith has been snapped up by League Two (fourth tier) side Northampton Town on a two-year deal. Smith, who never made a first-team appearance for Leicester, had six loan spells during his time at the King Power Stadium.

Striker Tom Hopper has signed a contract with League One (third tier) Scunthorpe United, with the length of that deal unknown. Hopper, who had a loan spell with Scunthorpe last season scoring four goals in 12 appearances, returns to Glanford Park where he'll play under Mark Robins.

Pearson is now the only one of the three players yet to find a new club for next season.

Leicester sacks manager Pearson

Nigel Pearson has been sacked as manager of Leicester City, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday, blaming "fundamental differences" for their decision.

"The Board of Directors recognises the success Nigel has helped to bring to Leicester City during his two spells in charge of the club, particularly during the last three and a half years," said a statement on the club's website.

"However, it has become clear to the club that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us.

"Regrettably, the club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the Board is no longer viable.

Leicester, whose owners are the Thai businessmen, father and son Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, added that Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh will take charge of the first team until a permanent replacement is found.

Pearson's son James was one of three Leicester players sacked by the club after they appeared in a sexually-explicit video where they were seen racially abusing a Thai woman.

Gary Lineker's impressed:

“Leicester City have sacked Nigel Pearson! Really? WTF! Could you kindly reinstate him like the last time you fired him? So, after not only getting LCFC promoted but pulling off the most miraculous escape in PL history, Pearson is sacked. Those who run football never cease to amaze with their stupidity.”

Predrag 'Preki' Radosavljevic or Martin O’Neill for the Leicester manager's job?
