I saw some farangs at a coffee counter which is a part of a souvenir shop in front of Yamo statue.

Are you referring to Ta Jaeng Coffee?

Royal Home coffee and bakery shop can be considered as being "just outside" Klang Plaza 2, close as it is to the pedestrian-only passage on Rajadamnern Rd. There are several branches in Korat and, as they told me, in Pakchong. One bakery-only branch is found at Maharat Hospital's food center (ground floor of tower garage).

I just noticed that one of the bakeries outside Home Fresh Mart at The Mall is another Royal Home branch. Next to escalators going down.

1. Class Café 5, being set up on the external ground floor, opposite the Bangkok Bank

That Class Café branch opened an external unit a few meters away, at the car park exit. It's called Scale Burger and it has the form of an old tourism caravan. Don't know if it has anything to do with the "Food Truck" mentioned in reply no. 15.

I had a tasty cappuccino there today while waiting for Yamo Festival's opening ceremony to start. I was served by the same lady in the photos above. She is friendly and seems to know what's what.

Scale Burger is no longer there now.

Baan Ya on third floor can be considered as another coffee shop inside Klang Plaza. We talked about it here. Today I had a tasty cappuccino, as hot as requested, with plenty of excellent tea included in the price: 40 THB. Free Wi-Fi. Photos of my serving and of the coffee page in their menu.

Went back today for a rather disappointing second experience. I ordered an American coffee: it came warm just enough despite my recommendations, and not so tasty. Tea was just a regular cup this time, lukewarm. Price was discounted 10%, I don't know why, so I paid 36 THB instead of 40.

They have only 4-seat tables in that external area, and the place is usually crowded, making it uncomfortable for a single patron to take a whole table just for a drink. They should try to sort that out. They do call it a café after all, and I'm quite sure they could fit in another 2 or 3 small tables easily enough.

3. Biz Café, in a corner of the 2nd floor, opposite side from the elevators

For the records, Biz Café opened a small branch in The Mall's new wing, third floor.

This one now closed, don't know if only temporarily or not. Works going on inside and around it (new wooden building next to it).

Caffé Muan Chon กาแฟมวลชน opened on the third floor, immediately to the right of the escalator when you reach up from the second floor.

Mezzo Coffee (& Gallery) is open next to the now closed Royal Home, on two floors in recently renewed premises almost facing Yamo (see also here).

Should Royal Home open again in the same spot, serving coffee as it used to do, there would be 4 coffee shops in that short stretch facing Yamo: Royal Home, Mezzo, Ta Jaeng and Amazon. One True Coffee shop is not far, a little bit inside Pho Klang Rd, on the left. Mezzo Coffee is also inside The Mall's new wing if I'm not mistaking.

^  I tried that place at the Mall when I visited the new wing. My experience was that the coffee was OK/ pretty good, but the cakes/brownies were poor. They didn't seem fresh at all. We bought three and finished none of them. I thought it was very odd given that the shop had not long opened and presumably wanted to give a good impression to new customers. I won't buy cakes or brownies there again and given that we like to eat something sweet when we drink our coffees and teas, it is very likely that we'll go to a different coffee shop next time. Three lost customers for Mezzo.

Caffé Muan Chon is also at Makro Food Service opposite Do Home. I was there yesterday and I found that it is run by CP Retailink, importers of coffee and espresso machines and other restaurant equipment, some of it displayed inside there. Their coffee and espresso machines include Italian brands Rancilio and Nuova Simonelli, Swiss brand Schaerer and other brands. They have also a couple of Italian Swedlinghaus slicers in their catalogue (we talked about slicers here).

Yesterday afternoon I was happy to run into Caffé Muan Chon also at Mochit bus station, 3rd floor (northeastern destinations).

CLASS Café 8 (for good this time) on the west end of the city, on Mitthapap, 2 km before reaching Bypass bridge if coming from Bangkok. Side by side with Wat Ratchasimaramon. I circled it in that map they are distributing now.

I just walked to Klang Plaza this evening and saw a new coffee shop and an old style shop.
They are look good in front of Yamo and near Amazon shop.
I'm very happy that Korat seems like a modern city.
Khun Anton or KF members may visited these 2 shops.
I can't find your posts then I post here again.  :D
