Chas Hodges - one half of the musical duo Chas and Dave - has died at the age of 74.

The duo's Twitter account said he recently received treatment for oesophageal cancer but died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours.

Known for their rock and cockney style, Chas and Dave enjoyed the height of their fame in the 1970s and 1980s with hits such as Rabbit and Snooker Loopy.

They also performed four FA Cup final songs with Tottenham Hotspur FC.

The statement on Chas and Dave's Twitter page read: "It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our very own Chas Hodges."

It said he had died from organ failure.

''George HW Bush, who as the 41st president shepherded the US through a turbulent period in global relations that included the breakup of the Soviet Union and the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, has died. He was 94. A statement from his office said: “George Herbert Walker Bush, world war two naval aviator, Texas oil pioneer, and 41st president of the United States of America, died on 30 November 2018. He was 94 and is survived by his five children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Barbara; his second child Pauline Robinson ‘Robin’ Bush; and his brothers Prescott and William or ‘Bucky’ Bush.''

Certainly you will Ken - you are after all, rather ''noteworthy''.

(I don't know if I'll be around to be the one to do it  ;) )

Anyway that's a very long time away hopefully  ;D

The adorable June Whitfield has died at 93. I'm so sorry - a Lady who has given me laughs and chuckles as long as I can remember. Anyone else remember Ron and Eff from 'Take it from here' ? Her career spanned either 7 or 8 decades according to the Guardian . . .

That's sad news , loved all her appearances a true comedy icon . My be the era of being able to laugh at comedy is now being eroded because people are frightened to laugh as it may be considered not PC.

RIP Dame June Whitfield. You were Absolutely Fabulous.

I am said to say that Steen aka The Odd Viking has passed away.

The funeral is being held tomorrow. Directions to the Temple are from the Walrus head down the road with 2 peace on your left and the Temple is at the bottom of the road.

I will post a time when I am told.

RIP Steen.

The actor Windsor Davies, best known for his role as the sergeant major in TV series It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, has died at the age of 88.

His family said he died peacefully on Thursday, with his daughter saying her parents left a large family “who will all remember them with love, laughter and gratitude”, according to the BBC.
