Excuse me ! An F16 was loaded for battle while mechanics repaired a cannon  :o :o :o

''A Belgian mechanic destroyed a multi-million pound fighter jet after he accidentally fired a Vulcan cannon while carrying out repairs at an air force base. The £15m plane quickly caught fired and exploded, according to Belgian broadcaster RTL.

The mechanic was working with a colleague on two F-16s in a hangar near the control tower. It is understood that the third jet, which they inadvertently destroyed after firing the cannon, was just out of their line of sight. Both mechanics were injured during the incident, which occurred on Thursday at the Florennes air base, 60 miles south of Brussels.

Worth a quick look at this link - a couple of good pictures to see before the 'Premium' guillotine  ;)

Shot on a bike flying down a wooded track on a mountainside - shocking :-

''A 34-year-old Briton has been shot dead by a hunter as he sped down a wooded track on a mountain bike in the French Alps, officials have said. The victim, understood to be Marc Sutton from Caerphilly, was a restaurant owner who had been living for several years in the small resort town of Les Gets. He was shot on Saturday evening as a hunting party beat its way through woods near the ski resort of Montriond, according to a local prosecutor quoted by the Associated Press. The victim was “perfectly identifiable” and was on a well-used but hard-to-access mountain track when he was shot by a 22-year-old hunter, who was taken to hospital in shock.

An inquiry has been launched for aggravated manslaughter, the prosecutor said

The good ole' UK doesn't come out too well sometimes in this age of Jobsworths :-

1. Our bin in Chantaburi gets collected twice a week - B30 a month. Some places in the UK are moving over to 3 week collections - FGS the stink must be terrible  >:( >:(   And all these bins for different waste in the UK - more plastic with little payback IMO.  GGrrrr

and . . .

2. ''A GRANDAD gardener who cares for his local park’s trees and spends endless hours weeding for free has been told to stop by his council or face being arrested. Alan Baines, 62, has spent two hours a day, seven days a week picking up litter, planting flowers and trimming hedges at his local park for the last 18 months.'' Seems like a model citizen to me  :)

Words nearly fail me. But soon there'll be a similar story of such madness . . .

''A Nigerian zoo is accused of mistreating its animals after a visitor posted a photo of a sick and malnourished-looking camel online. The camel, which is housed at National Children's Park and Zoo in the capital city of Abuja, appears extremely frail and its coat is faded and patchy.

Tunde Sawyerr visited the zoo on Saturday with his three-year-old daughter. He took the photo and uploaded it on Twitter, writing: 'Saw this former camel at the Abuja Zoo.' Sawyerr told CNN that the camel was so ill that his daughter, who can readily recognize the animal on television, was unable to identify it

Between Chantaburi and Laem Sing, a car coming the other way with a small dog sat on the wing mirror  :o  The Driver was holding it with the other hand on the steering wheel - I hope.  ::)

WISH I was there with a bucket and shovel  ;)

''A street in a western German town got a repaving worthy of Willy Wonka when a tonne of chocolate flowed out of a factory and solidified on the pavement. The German newspaper Soester Anzeiger reported that a “small technical defect” involving a storage tank caused the chocolate to spill out from the DreiMeister chocolate factory in Westoennen. After hitting the chilly pavement, the milk chocolate quickly hardened.''

We live in a 'Usabai' type gated development with a 4 bed house on smallish land.
The neighbours behind us got 4 rabbits some months ago. Apparently rabbits can reproduce every 31 days and they now have 50  :o

The large hutches have to be regularly extended. Whilst the neighbours are doing their best to look after them, before they are cleaned up daily, it can be a bit smelly.

Apparently, only yesterday, the doe's were seperated from the bucks  ::)  Due to this tardy action, in another month, there might be a 100 ? Of course being Thai they won't eat or cull them.

((Another house, some distance away fortunately, has 40 hens in the garden and another has a large sow pig  ??? ))

Of course this could happen in any country - people just don't learn anything about the animals they are going to keep ! It's potty.

Bizarre . . .

''A welcoming water cannon salute backfired spectacularly after Dubai firefighters broke the Saudi plane they were welcoming on the country's national day and injured a passenger. Footage shows malfunctioning hoses from two fire engines pelt the side of the Saudi Airlines Airbus A320-214 before water is sent high into the air and comes crashing down. The highly pressurised water hit the left side of the plane and forced an over-wing emergency exit hatch to open in the incident last September.''

A footballer waited nearly THREE hours for an ambulance at Truro City's ground on Saturday. The ground is maybe 2 miles from Treliske, Cornwall's main Hospital.
Jobsworths rule OK ?  Ridiculous   >:(

''The South Western Ambulance Service Trust has explained why it took them two and half hours to reach an injured Truro City football player on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday Truro City Football Club confirmed that French midfielder Michael Herve spent the night in hospital after suffering a horror injury that led to their clash with Concord Rangers on Saturday afternoon being abandoned.

The game was around 75 minutes old when Herve clashed with Concord's Jack Midson. The Essex club were leading 1-0 at the time, but play stopped to allow both players to get treatemnt. It soon became apparent that Herve was seriously hurt, though, and an ambulance was called at around 4.30pm.

Due to the nature of Herve's shoulder injury, the advice was not to move him and the unfortunate midfielder spent two and half hours on the pitch before an ambulance finally turned up and took him to Royal Cornwall Hospital. Now the ambulance trust has explained the delay and confirmed that their response time met their guidelines.

A South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) spokesperson said: “We were called on Saturday 6 April at 4.38pm to reports of an injured person at Truro City Football Ground. The patient was assessed by staff in our 999 clinical control hub, and there was considered to be no immediate threat to life. “We are sorry we were not able to reach this patient sooner. Managing the demand on the ambulance service across the South West can be very challenging, due to the finite resources we have

A friend is a Detective Sergeant in the local CID; very capable, very experienced, straight-to-the-point person. We were in Manchester, had dinner, and she went off back to her hotel with her son. Literally 30 seconds after we left them they watched a traffic vs. pedestrian collision. Nothing too serious but an elderly lady knocked over by a lazy taxi driver. The police turned up. Were ecstatic that the witness was a pukka police officer. Then told her the ambulance was three hours away.....She was furious; she'd guarded that victim and that scene until they turned up, and then to be told the lady was hours away from treatment. And she's a tough bird. She doesn't accept crap from anyone (including the Chief Constable). She let them know her thoughts! Not sure it got the ambulance there any quicker, but By God did the 'beepers' in the resulting jam get both barrels!

Jobsworth's rule OK ?

''A senior coastguard who quit after being demoted for taking a teenage casualty to hospital instead of waiting two hours for an ambulance said the experience has left him “numb”. Gary Court resigned from the North Devon coastguard team last week after 32 years of service. The 53-year-old who was the senior officer in charge of his branch said he was left with no other choice but to resign after being reprimanded for rescuing an unconscious teenager.

(The row comes just days after two coastguards in Hope Cove, south Devon, were dismissed for rescuing a car using their own vehicle, resulting in the closure of the coastguard station).

Mr Court was on his way to bed at 1am on June 23 when he received a call to assist the ambulance service with an 18-year-old male discovered unconscious in the sand dunes of Croyde beach. The man was inebriated and unconscious and was found wet and cold in the sand dunes. Two ambulances assigned to the incident were diverted to more serious accidents. After an hour and a half wait, the paramedic on the scene advised Mr Court it could be another two hours until an ambulance became available. “The paramedic called his office and they said we were OK to take this man into hospital. So we secured the gentleman into a stretcher and brought him to hospital in my van. He was accompanied by a paramedic in the back," Mr Court told The Telegraph.

Mr Court said he was congratulated by the waiting team at the hospital. “They were so chuffed with how we had handled the situation”. The next morning Mr Court said he was chastised by his area manager for failing to call the control ops room in Falmouth in Cornwall before transporting the man to hospital

''The sound of the explosion was like a thousand thunderclaps. The earth quaked, buildings collapsed — and everyone who heard it in the sleepy Staffordshire village of Hanbury and on the farms around twigged immediately what it was. As a huge mushroom cloud ballooned up into the air, the same terrible thought possessed them: ‘The Dump’s gone up!’

‘There was a blinding flash,’ a villager would later recall, ‘and the ground I was standing on shook under my feet. Lumps of clay as big as railway engines soared up in the sky.’ At least 70 people died on that grim day — November 27, 1944 — in what turned out to be the largest ever blast in Britain, many times greater than anything that happened in the Blitz, and arguably one of the world’s greatest accidental explosions

I thought this was bizarre   :o   ::)

''A man who died from a heart attack after having sex with a woman he met on a business trip is a 'victim of a professional accident', a French court has ruled. This ruling means that the employer of the man, known as Xavier X, will have to pay hefty compensation to his dependents.''

I should have qualified this by saying, of course, he was 'on the job'  ;)  R.I.P.

Should be Central Plaza WestGate (Wednesday) and Paradise Park. Notice that at Central WestGate lights went off, too (min. 1:42 in the video).

They were taken from bad conditions and put in worse conditions. Someone should be held responsible as Tigers are an endangered species and there are only an estimated 3500 remaining in the wild worldwide.
