A few days ago while New York city hospitals were loading the deceased  into refrigerated trucks because the morgues we full

Trump twittered this to the entire world

https://deadline.com/2020/03/white-house-briefings-beating-the-bachelor-trump-tweets-1202895277/

Just unbelievable

I believe him about the ratings.  Meanwhile, others change the channel or mute the volume when Trump appears; same as they do when The Bachelor comes on.  I'm sure there's a correlation in there somewhere.  ;)

The USA, no doubt chastened by it's Trump/Covid-19 experiences, has Presidential elections in October. Joe Biden is the great hope now for the Democrats  ???   At 77 I think he's rather old for the job - however maybe his 'running mate' will be younger.

Rumours abound that Michelle Obama will stand with him - I hope she does. . . .

"Former first lady Michelle Obama is back in play big time as a favorite to be Joe Biden’s running mate. As Sen. Bernie Sanders on Monday made a surprise endorsement of Biden in a warm and humorous video chat, the focus turned to Biden’s pick for vice president and gambling markets charted by Oddschecker.com saw a surge of support for Obama.

“Michelle Obama has been the most backed person in the market, accounting for almost 32% of all bets,” the firm said. Spokesman Pete Watt told us, “Following Biden’s announcement that his VP would be female, plenty of names are being thrown into the ring, and the latest to attract a significant amount of attention is the former FLOTUS, Michelle Obama
.” "

OMG  :'(

"Protestors chanted 'fire Fauci' at a coronavirus lockdown rally in Austin, Texas, on Saturday - they were referring to Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country's top immunologist and infectious disease expert.
Kim Pagan, of Toms River, New Jersey, was arrested for organizing the anti-lockdown rally in Trenton.
Gov. Phil Murphy first implemented the coronavirus emergency orders last month.
Several COVID-19 anti-lockdown protests were held by upset citizens around the United States on Friday
Protests happened in places like New Hampshire, Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey.
Anti-Trump activists laid makeshift body bags in front of Trump's properties to protest his outbreak response. President Trump doubled down on his tweets to 'LIBERATE' Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia.
He told reporters at Friday's White House briefing that the Democratic governors in those three states could have gotten the same result with less restrictions.
Trump also said the protesters, many of whom were Trump supporters, were 'treated a little bit rough'"

From Covid-19 day 1, it was evident that Trump was in cloud cuckoo land - it's great to have this in review and just so clear to see

https://www.youtube.comwatch?v=MaUoeVt5bHg&feature=youtu.be

Pres. Trump's latest grand certainty - that the virus definitely originated in THE Wuhan Lab - might have been stimulated by the following ?? (Someone should definitely confiscate Trump's phone (and Presidency) LOL)

Tasuku Honjo - in 2018, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine along with James P. Allison - discoveries connected with the new cancer drugs, such as 'Keytruda', known as 'checkpoint inhibitors.. Over a quiet beer the other eve, my Danish Pal showed me comments purported to come from Tasuku Honjo in which it was claimed that Honjo was talking about having worked for years in THAT Wuhan Lab and having said he was now unable to contact any of the Scientists he knew there before ????

Believe Dr. Honjo has refuted this claim.

Something afoot ? I would never wish CV-19 on anyone, but that said, if Trump himself were to be infected, in view of all his scorn and idiocy, there would be a sort of 'poetic justice' to the matter.  :(

"The press secretary to the US vice-president has coronavirus, the White House has said, making her the second person who works at the White House complex known to test positive for the virus this week. President Donald Trump, who publicly identified the aide of Mike Pence, said he was "not worried" about the virus spreading in the White House, which said it was taking "every single precaution to protect the president"."

Haven't had time to read this in detail - time for a kip. from the FT

"Inside Trump’s coronavirus meltdown - What went wrong in the president’s first real crisis — and what does it mean for the US?"

The USA deserves better  ::)

"If Mr Trump’s own defence secretary not only opposes military deployment but is willing to say so publicly, what must US generals be thinking behind closed doors? If so concerned was Mr Mattis that he was willing to break his “duty of silence”, is it fair to speculate that those he served with less than two years ago could have similar views? And if so, what does that mean if Mr Trump does try to follow through on his pledge to deploy soldiers if the lawlessness continues?"

The DM is good at pics but some of these are worrying. From the look on General Mark Milley's face - I don't think the Don should mess with him  ???  Also, in the first pic of Mark Esper, Defence Secretary - he reminds me of Harrison Ford  ;)  ?

Bad times in the USA with all this palava and CV-19 too. I wonder what the USA K-F's think ? ATB

"Chicago suffered its most violent day in almost 60 years when 18 people were killed as rioting and looting broke out amid the George Floyd protests. The fatalities figure on Sunday 31 May was the highest on record according to the University of Chicago Crime Lab, which has been tracking the data since 1961. Among those reportedly killed was a man paying his cell phone bill, a high school student and a visitor from Washington DC seeing his family for the weekend. Intense pressure on police resources as the protests turned violent could be one factor, with 65,000 calls being made to 911 emergency services that day - 50,000 more than usual."

Well, he is now in Walter
Reed Hospital......  As one might expect, a media feeding frenzy but amongst  all the usual reports some quite good articles on what happens if 'the worst happens', which is interesting.  I'm not a fan of his, but I hope he and Melania recover.  As an aside, what I hadn't realised was to what extent people rely on social media for their sole source of news!  (Just shows what an IT dinosaur I am I suppose!)

At the debate, the Trump family attending  didn't wear masks and further, refused to, even when asked to do so by the Moderator. Also, Pres. Trump made a point of mocking Joe Biden for his wearing of masks.

I wish them all well but it's hard not to see some 'poetic justice'  8)

A litany of quotes from President Trump, as the CV-19 tragedy unfolded in the USA.

Good luck to the President - although his age and weight do count against him, he's getting the best care available no doubt.

So much for hydroxychloroquine !

It's called, 'a bad press'. Lots of it around as the President refuses a 'virtual' second debate. In this first clip, Trump says Biden as President won't last 2 months and calls Kamala Harris, a 'monster'. OMG.
