But in the real world........

Bookies odds for next POTUS:

Joe Biden 2/5
Mike Pence 100/1
Kamala Harris 125/1

and

Donald Trump 15/8

No matter how much the Left chatter and whinge it doesn't change the facts.

Mmmmm.

On reflection, I'm not too sure of those odds............

Hi Dam, about those odds, maybe the Bookies are kidding, (or making money  ;) )

BTW what 'facts' do you refer to ?

It seems Trump's behaviour is getting more odd by the day. In contrast, I must say that the cleverest Guy I ever knew, has supported Trump with tenacity over the years (and I just don't get it).

You mention 'leftist chatter and whinge', but, as an outsider, I can't see why Trump is revered in some quarters. To me he seems an appalling character and I hope he doesn't win.

That said, some of his foreign policy directions seem right to uneducated me but by and large, a Goodbye would be nice. ATB

Hate to get involved in a political debate but in my opinion it comes down to 2 things.

1. If you want the US to become a socialist country (which many people want) then vote for Biden.

2. If you want the US to stay a Democratic Republic (which many people want) then vote for Trump.

Don't vote for the individual vote for the policies.

I confess I would vote for Bart Simpson if he was standing against Trump!

RDRO - with respect I think that's simplistic - (I was going to write 'black and white', but that might be misinterpreted  ;)  )

IMO if Biden wins, the USA is certain to remain a democracy. What's undemocratic about his policies ?

It could also be argued that a Trump win might put democracy at risk - e.g. hasn't he left a cloud over whether he will accept the result ?

Hector I agree - Bart Simpson for President  8)   ;D

And how do you explain the Democrats voting for Trump?

"And how do you explain the Democrats voting for Trump?"   Easy - soft in the head.

I do not know anything about American politics (Democrats or Republicans) so cannot say anything about it. However many people around the world wonder why there are no better candidates to be found than Trump (74) and Biden (77). U.S.A. have more than 330.000.000 persons living there and abroad.
Maybe just maybe: too much money rules?

Not really that many qualify. 1 Must be a natural born citizen. 2. Must be at least 35 years old and 3. Must be a resident of the US for at least 14 years.

By 35 most people know what direction their career is taking and for most that is not towards politics. For those people that did go into politics you need some honest, clean experience before being considered as a presidential candidate. This is one of the reasons the Left hates Trump as he is not a politician. Many Americans voted for Trump because he was not a politician.

Thanks Rdrokit, maybe good headhunters could be the solution? As an outstander it looks like poker. The person with the most money wins....
I do not want to sound insulting but stating presendential candidates now and in the past are/were honest etc is IMHO a contradictio in terminis  ;D ;D ;D.

The root cause ensuring low quality candidates is that they have to be fantastically wealthy and consequently, mostly have one foot in the grave.
It takes decades to buy support.

Time for a change:

Ben Shapiro

Not fantastically wealthy (yet), but fantastically intelligent and a supreme debater.
(unfortunately, he believes in God, but you can't have everything).

Crikey Dam - Ben Shapiro   ::)   ::)   ::)

That'd liven things up   :o

Meantime Trump blunders around as usual https://youtu.be/E82AcIPf_dU

"Donald Trump has lashed out at Republican senators distancing themselves from him as the party’s tensions were laid bare in public with election day now just two weeks away. The US president appeared to dub Republican critics “stupid” at a rally on Sunday after a slew of the party’s congressmen publicly expressed displeasure with aspects of Mr Trump's leadership."

This is hilarious - "Donald Trump and Joe Biden will have their microphones turned off at Thursday's presidential debate to stop them talking over each other. The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) has announced that it will use a mute button to enforce two minutes of uninterrupted speaking time for each candidate per topic after the first debate between the rivals became a farce."

10:1 Trump will still interrupt though the microphone is turned off   :-\  Better to turn both microphphones off and send 'em both home   ;)
