If you can access HBO series, I can highly recommend Chernobyl. One of the best TV series I have ever watched. Compelling, scary stuff:

Watched "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" on DVD last night. A very touching tale of two young boys (amazing acting), one the son of the Nazi Commandant and one a prisoner inside a Concentration Camp.

By quirk, both share the same fate as they search inside the Camp for a Dad. Horrendous.

Quite the clearest scenes of these mass murders that I can remember.

I noticed this on Yahoo - you can watch live stage plays from the National Theatre on Youtube. Here's 'One Man Two Guvnors' with James Corden  :)

Catch this bit of fun first . . .

"Accidental Death of an Anarchist" (Channel 4,1983). I saw the 'Belt and Braces Theatre Company' do this in Wyndham's, 3 times. Based on real events, both funny and thought provoking.

I've been practising my 'link' skills . . . https://youtu.be/p10xejjf0pw

I'm defiantly watching 'Fawlty Towers', the episode named, 'The Germans', on principle. I love the episode and I like Germans too  ;)   8)

Long may 'Fawlty Towers' reign as the best ever - as for racism - well it did happen and surely it's better to observe the past just a little with a laugh. Anyway it's more about 'Barmy Basil' than race - after all - he has had a knock on the head  8)

Just finished series "Devils" worth watching IMHO. A worldwide financial conspiracy is discovered by a group of traders of a large investment bank. Based on the novel by Guido Maria Brera.

Mortimer and Whitehouse fishing christmas special set in and around Middlesbrough. Great show with 2 of the funniest and nicest men on tv. It shows off some of the splendid scenery on Teesside's doorstep.

Some beautiful places and good fishing in that program Teess. I didn't know Chris Rea was from Teesside but God Luv 'im, he didn't look well - I was shocked. He's had a really hard decade or two health wise but he's still smiling  :)

We've just finished watching The Serpent on BBC (it was created by them in association with Netflix, so might be accessible there). Based on the true story of Charles Sobhraj that many will be familiar with, and much of it set in Thailand. I was reminded of reading Mike Newman's travel journal (here) - Mike would have been travelling the same route as the travellers targeted by Sobhraj and his accomplices.
