Win over Brazil marks lucky 13 for Thai spikers

No.13 might represent bad luck, but for Thailand women's volleyball team, at least for a day, it meant only good things. The team, led by coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul, yesterday claimed their first ever victory over mighty Brazil in their 13 World Grand Prix meetings.

The stunning 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 29-27) win in the second game of Pool D1 also gave the team a much-needed boost after they lost the first four matches of this year's FIVB tournament, the latest being against arch-rivals Japan on Friday.

I watched some of the match which Thailand lost 1-3. The way that ball gets 'upped' sometimes is remarkable. Both sides played really well.
