Hi Robert. I thought you might reply  ;)   I'd favour a maximum non-UK of 5 in each EPL match day squad. That said, other Countries use some 'foreign'players too.

You watched the Ajax game - how disappointing that must have been - 96 minutes   :(   I hope Ajax keep some of their best Players and can do well again next year - it would have been great to see them in this Final.

You say, ''The big money has really spoiled the sport IMHO.'' I agree with you on that in MANY ways . . .

West Ham won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1965 with 11 English players. Ten of them had come through West Ham’s youth system.

Interesting chat in the DT - four 'experts' pick their combined Man City and Liverpool sides.

All four chose : Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Laporte, Robertson

All four chose : B. Silva, Aguero, Sterling

3 chose Ederson in goal

Roll on Sunday - btw the Liverpool game is live on PPTV 36 free to air.

Ajax won Europa Cup 1 in 1971 with 10 Dutch players and 1 Serbier. How times have changed!

Celtic won the european cup in Lisbon in 1967 and all 11 players were born within a radius of 30 miles from Glasgow. However its a different game now. Of Englands 4 teams in the upcoming european finals only 8 of those that started this week are qualified to play for England.

Watched Brighton v Man City last night - the Champs elect looked a bit nervy to me but their first goal unlocked things and off they went for their 14th win in a row. Exceptional.

Worth noting that MCFC and LFC finished 26/25 points clear of Chelsea in 3rd with a goal difference of 48/43 MORE  :o than  Chelsea's +24

The 98/97 points tally was soberingly, more than 6 x Huddersfield's - ouch !

A VERY embarassing day for O G-S at Cardiff and Congrats to TW's Wolves who finished a cracking 7th !

Just as a teaser, end of season, on the ancient tally of 2 points for a win, LIVERPOOL would have been Champs by one point  :'(
That's how close it was - roll on next season  :)

Yes Man City take 42 points from their last 14 games and they needed all of them to hold off Liverpool. Next Saturday they have the opportunity of an unprecedented treble while Liverpool just need to beat Spurs in the CL final. Chelsea and Arsenal fans have to plot a route to Baku (Azerbaijan) for their final.
Man City for next season will be looking to replace the ageing Kompany and Fernandinho anc thd injury ptone Mendy while United have bigger problems. Only de Gea, Pogba and Rashford seem good enough.

Management of Football at Supra National level is still shoot  :(

Teess not sure I agree about that Man Utd picture - but . . .

And this - Brighton's big mistake. I predict now, next season - DOWN

The Media turn on Solskjaer - good sport for them :-

''A Manchester United Unicef dinner in late January revealed the picture was far more complicated than it first seemed when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived as manager. The Norwegian's team had strolled to seven straight wins, leaving you wondering why the club hadn't thought of going back to the old school sooner. But guests who had paid out for tables at the Old Trafford event were puzzled by Paul Pogba's apparent disappearance after 45 minutes. They found Alexis Sanchez less than enthusiastic when approached.''

''Solskjaer had ordered his players to report to Carrington for the debriefing before going away on holiday. But he was so upset over the final-day loss to Cardiff City at Old Trafford that he told them not to bother.''

''There were also widespread calls for the club to go out and try to lure Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine had been the preferred choice when Mourinho was sacked but a move failed to come to fruition.''

The second story, cancelling the 'debrief' makes me wonder if O G-S is already in 'times up' mode ??? Will Man Utd back an O G-S rebuild . . . ?
