After the latest round of fixtures it is apparent a few clubs have problems,
Southampton are in trouble Hughes must be favourite in the sack race,
Cardiff are short on quality and will struggle,
Ranieri will improve Fulham,
Newcastle will be OK as long as Benitez stays,
Palace cant score,
Neither can Man Utd,
City cant stop scoring,
Neither can Liverpool.
Just noticed that Champions league coverage has disappeared from Truevision screens.

The beautiful game   >:(   and the Barry Bennell / Dario Gradi saga . . .

''Gradi, then the first-team manager, had modified his own house to accommodate boys. Indeed, he needed a people carrier to ferry them all around and, although this is far from an easy subject to address, it has been made clear to the people leading this case why so much innuendo and suspicion has followed him throughout his professional life. “You’d always see him with his arm around a blond boy,” one former Crewe academy player has told the inquiry. “He used to prefer blond boys. He had dressing gowns with the [boys’] initials on. He had a [swimming] pool that was built so it was a certain level for young boys to play in.”
Gradi used to take boys on holidays
. . . .''

Wolves have fallen to pieces. - one point in the last 6 games. If this form continues they will be relegated!!

The reality is that they were not as good as folks thought after 8 games and they are not as bad as present form suggests.

My feeling is that the Ruben Neves speculation has upset the "Wolves are a pack" dressing room attitude. Neves has gone missing in recent matches. He should be sold for 65 million in January and the money invested in a couple of decent midfielders who want to play for the team and a striker.

My thoughts have always been that avoiding the drop this season should be the aim. This aim will be achieved.

More important than that TW is that I had Wolves down for a win ! I was expecting some sort of a bounce back with the quality Wolves have. Whilst it's almost a foregone who will win the EPL this year, there'll be some hi-jinks at the bottom ! GL

And now he's gone. Presumably because he failed to beat a distinctly average Man Utd team.

Earlier in this thread . . .

''The FA has drawn up proposals to deal with Brexit under which the allowance of non-homegrown players in the 25-man squads would be reduced from 17 to 13, and will pursue that course regardless.''

Is that enough ? Gareth Southgate with some pertinent comment :-

''The shortage of homegrown players in the Premier League, which hit record lows this past weekend, is “incredible” and “a conundrum we have to solve” according to the England manager, Gareth Southgate. In the 14th round of fixtures which took place this weekend only 54 players eligible to play for England started in the top flight. This was down from the previous week, which itself had been a record low.''

Some decent games this weekend. Chelsea nearly turning a comprehensive victory into a draw after easing off at Brighton. The game was marred by the co-commentator gary birtles spouting nonsense throughout. Manchester united were well beaten at Liverpool and look a very average team these days while City comfortably saw off Everton. Ranieri has a big job on his hands at Fulham while Hasenhuttl has started well at Southampton.

I think it is on Thai channel 7.

They've shown it in the past.

Hi Teess. Hassenhuttl has an interesting backgound - a good start and I was happy to see old favourites, Nathan Redmond, Shane Long, Charlie Austin and Danny Ings in the action. I hope it goes well for Southampton after bursting Arsenal's bubble.

I see Sunderland will be in place for auto promo if they can win games in hand - must go up this year. What a crowd - 29000 to watch Bristol Rovers. Amazing.

In a different World, NL(S) leaders TUFC went to NL Boreham Wood in the FA Trophy, watched by a crowd of 218 of whom more than 100 were TUFC supporters - (last TUFC home game 2500+). BH a 'senior' side with 10% of the TUFC crowd. Up to TUFC to get that right and get back to where they belong . . .

Liverpool look like giving Man City a run for their money for the EPL as Salah gets back to his best.

He doesn't seem so special any more. Maybe he is not the same without Rui Faria. I expect Jose will get by OK with his multi million pay off but I dont see getting another position soon. I wonder if utd have someone lined up to take his place, Benitez perhaps?

''It is understood Michael Carrick will look after affairs before the club appoint an external candidate in the next 24 to 48 hours to take charge on a caretaker basis for the rest of the season.

A statement from the club said: "Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future. "A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager

Didn't know Paul Pogba had a humorous sense, but according to the Independent he sure has. His first comment to Mourinho's sacking should have been

"He fucked with the wrong baller!"

Foolhardy from Pogba - he has his own problems.
IMO - better for him to keep quiet and enjoy the moment  ::)

So that's Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have changed Managers recently  :-\
Man City, Liverpool and Spurs seem happy with their Guys  ;)

In the DT, an article about the disgraceful aggression vented at Referees in the EPL. Jamie Vardy in this particularly ugly assault should IMO have been given a red card.

''The comparative scale of English football’s culture of referee abuse is laid bare by new research showing that match officials in France and Holland are more than seven times less likely to endure frequent verbal abuse. In what is the biggest study of its sort - and the first that allows direct comparisons across countries - researchers discovered a series of common issues in Europe, but stark differences in the regularity of abuse compared to their previous findings in England.''

Well he has to 'av a go doesn't he ? Wishing Ole Gunnar ATB but frankly, after his dismal efforts as Manager at Cardiff City a few years ago, the portents are not good  :-\

''The new Manchester United caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer promised his under-performing players that he would not judge them on their stuttering season so far and that all of them would be given a fresh chance to prove anew that they belonged at the club.

In his first interview since being appointed on Tuesday the Norwegian, a major fan favourite at Old Trafford, declared that he had ‘come home’ to United. In what was an upbeat interview Solskjaer made much of emphasising the quality of his squad and making clear that whatever had happened under Jose Mourinho would now be forgotten
.''

I expect we will see a bit more of Pogba and Mata and a bit less of Fellaini and Young.

Man City lose 2 games in 4 days while Utd score 8 in their 2 games. Spurs outdo that by scoring 11 and move up to 2nd. Newcastle settle for a defeat at Liverpool before kick off by fielding a weakened team. Meanwhile the 3rd largest crowd of the day was in league 1 at the Stadium of Light where over 46,000 watched Sunderland win. This was more than Spurs managed at Wembley.
