Korat Fart Forum
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:36:37 AM »

I heard that Thaiga was retiring - I think he just got fed up with a lack of response over a long period - he certainly tried hard. I was 100% against allowing multi I/D over there but had plenty of fun some times. Sorry for the Members to see KF go and sorry for Thaiga who tried so hard. His message :-

''Wishing all a happy christmas and of course a fantastic new year, thanks for those who have followed me along my merry way, but the way things are going behind the scenes are not my cup of tea, although i have struggled along with no replies and very little help from my own team at times, that's all part of the game. i enjoyed most of it, a roger   ;)   good luck to all from Thaiga.''

I replied with my good wishes :-

''Thaiga, I heard of this news and wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year too . . .
You have been a talented and hard working Leader on KF and I wish you well - whatever your reasons are. I still remember all your help sometimes but that's that. HC, HNY and TCOY . . .
The message to Members would be - use it or lose it ? Is that right ? ATB
''

So there we are - GL Thaiga . . .

So, what is Thaiga in relation to the forum? The owner? Mod? Admin?

What does this mean for the future of the forum?

Caller I don't really know. Thaiga was the main Poster and he had several I/D's on the go so there could be some conversation I suppose. I guess Thaiga was also a 'Moderator' and that Johnnie F is the Owner and Admin fella ?

Without Thaiga I can't see much future for KF but JF is a determined character - we'll see.

A grand opportunity for you Roger, you could be the new Thaiga.

The owner of KFart is a long term Koratian affectionately known as Johnny Foreigner ;D

Gee thanks Derek, but I'm OK here  ;)

I'm not in touch with Thaiga at all but he had good ideas and did lots of posts, some really interesting. I disagreed with him over the multi I/D stuff but personally, whatever has gone before, I'd welcome him here as one Member. Sometimes Thaiga could be amazingly helpful.

K-Farang is a good place now - Admin / Moderator seem to keep a fair watch on things.

I don't know JF at all except I donated once or twice and that made him happy !

Who was the founder of Korat Fart?

A German guy I can't recall his name but it might be Klaus.

He was supposed to be involved in the original Korat-Farang with Roy but they fell out and he started Korat-Fart.

None to my knowledge. Stuart's forum was Grumpy Expats

Ratsima - didn't realise that you'd been around so long . . .  ???
Derek - you too. And isn't JohnnieF the 'Klaus' you mention ?

There's a thread going back years on view KFart atm - 2009 - some odd posts but JF resurrected the thread for this yesterday :-

''Koratfart.com is still there, but a decision should be made anytime soon, how or whether things go on.''

I'd be really sad to see KFart close after all the effort. But Derek, I'll be staying here as this is by and large a friendly Forum - but no reason you shouldn't have a go at being the new 'Thaiga' yourself  ;)

There, as here, ''if you don't use it, you lose it'.  One day . . .

I retired to Korat in 2005 after spending most of my career (26 years) on Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands.

Probably.

I've been here since 2002

Thanks, but no thanks. I've told you before I only post about Korat and its environs

The simple problem with 'fart' is that unless you're in the inner circle, you don't actually know who you are talking to because of the use of multi ID's, so I lurked but never joined.
